About

Mark Silva is a guitarist and bandleader in the East Bay. Standards, blues and ballads, with the occasional original. The melody stays the point in his playing, and the chord voicings do most of the talking.

The lineage he's working in runs through Jim Hall and Bill Frisell: warm, clear tone, space left on purpose, and more interest in the shape of a tune than in the number of notes it can hold.

He leads the Mark Silva Trio, holds a monthly residency at Revival Bar + Kitchen, and plays around Berkeley and Oakland.
